The American Civil War Center at Historic Tredegar is located on 8 acres on the historic James River in downtown Richmond. A National Historic Landmark, the Tredegar site contains five surviving buildings illustrating the Iron Works era. The National Park Service operates the Richmond National Battlefield Park Visitor Center located in the restored Pattern Building.

MISSION

The mission of The American Civil War Center is to tell the whole story of the conflict that still shapes our nation.

THE ORGANIZATION

The American Civil War Center at Historic Tredegar (formerly the Tredegar National Civil War Center Foundation), a 501(c) (3) corporation, was incorporated on July 7, 2000, and granted tax exemption by the Internal Revenue Service on November 27, 2000.
