School programs at The American Civil War Center do more than inform.

They stimulate!

Students will experience the Civil War era like never before.  Participants will study the causes, major events and effects of the Civil War.  They will also study the people of the era.  Our programs are interactive, multisensory and engaging and they all challenge the student to make connections between past and present.  We design our activities to include the use of primary documents and understanding the events of history from different historical perspectives.

All program curricula are designed around Virginia Standards of Learning.
